Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England when she was sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote to replace the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes identified her as the most influential female in the media industry in the year 2009. She ranked 12th on the ranking. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a Journalism and management expert. Although she was a close friend with her father, it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her entire life. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At the age of sixteen, she left America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the first woman to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books with his guidance in editing.
